Council moves homeless family 13 times in four months

A homeless couple and their four young children have been moved by their local authority 13 times since being evicted from their house four months ago.

The Coombes family have been placed by Cornwall council in a hotel, in caravans on campsites, in holiday cottages and in a room above a pub.

Dean and Amy Coombes were given eight weeks’ notice by their landlord that they had to vacate their home in St Austell by June 29 because he wanted his property back. They had to leave their home with their four children all aged under eight.
